I am a scientist by trade. To reward myself for getting my master's in biotechnology I purchased a candle-making kit. To say that making candles sparked creativity in me is an understatement. Remembering a little set of fortune cookie-shaped soaps I had bought for a friend a few years ago, I began dreaming of all of the possible fun and unique products that I could create for others. I believe little things (like stickers, heart-shaped clouds, sparklers...and you know, food-shaped soaps or whipped candles) make a huge impact when it comes to taking the time to find joy in everyday life.
I have had epilepsy since the age of five and my seizures are not fully-controlled on medication. It has thrown its fair share of obstacles my way, from not being able to drive to being turned away from some pretty awesome opportunities. Your support of something I created from the ground up is appreciated more than you know, and every product is lovingly walked (or pedaled!) from my small business to the post-office!
When not candle-making or working, you will find me running or hiking the trails with my husband Mike and two rescue dogs Rusty and Buster.
